  1. Condolences to the Williams College Class of 1972, and to all current and past Society of Alumni officers and Executive Committee members, on the passing on Nov. 10, 2020, of Vernon Manley ‘72, a former member of the EC. A great Eph who will be remembered for his prowess on the Lasell Gym basketball court, his later tenacity on the tennis court, his sense of honor and decency, his inquisitiveness and willingness to hear every point of view, his remarkable work for his community, and his very deep love of and commitment to his College. I loved watching him dribble the ball and shoot during varsity basketball games in the old Lasell Gym. Vern was truly a beloved man about the campus as a student and as an alum. I had the privilege to know him for 50 years, and to work closely with him on several alumni initiatives and to see hik at the Williams Club in NYC.. He always had a big, infectious smile, and always wrapped a friend in a big hug. Deepest sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues. Vern will be sorely missed.
