  1. Dennis had the neighboring suite to where I lived as a freshman in Lehman Hall. He was completing his B.A. that year, with a remarkable setup for a desk, featuring straps to hold books open but still allow him to flick between pages, and a vertical keyboard where he could tap out his thesis (might have been on Goethe). It was a delight to learn that Dennis shared my affinity for punk rock, and I have a very specific memory of accompanying him to the Images cinema on Spring Street to watch ‘Sid and Nancy’. Dennis’s fortitude in finishing his degree, and his genial tolerance of rambunctious younger students above and beside him, are still an inspiration.

  2. I am honored to have known Dennis. His determination and resilience were truly inspirational to me. But as he confronted and overcame so many challenges during his life, he also maintained his wonderfully playful and curious spirit. He made the world a better place.

  3. Dennis was nice to know. I will miss seeing him at a reunion again. Goodbye Dennis and may you rest in peace.
